Robert LeRoy Knudsen (1929-1989) graduated from the Naval Photographic School in Pensacola, Florida. He was a White House photographer for five Presidents' administrations: Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon. Among his most famous photographs were the pictures of John F. Kennedy's son, John Jr., walking in the Oval Office in May 1962. He also photographed the 1948 and 1952 elections of Harry S. Truman and Dwight D.
